Blade Runner

As Blade Runner is meant to be a sci-fi classic, when it came up free on BBC iplayer recently I knew I had to check it out!

For an age before CGI I thought the special effects were very, well, effective, with more darkly towering skyscrapers and flying cars than you can shake a stick at! (And none of them looked like they'd been made out of lego and duct tape). Great set designs aside, the COSTUMES were amazing.

I really liked how they contrasted the disheveled, distressed look of punk-ish Pris, played by the gorgeous Daryl Hannah ...

... with the exaggerated old Hollywood silhouette and classic make-up of Rachael, played by Sean Young (isn't it weird how both actresses happen to have men's names?):

I can really see how much the goth subculture took from this movie - from the white make-up/black eyes combo to dog collars and cyberpunk.

I got a bit fidgety towards the middle as the whole film seems to play out in near darkness so I spent a lot of time staring at a reflection of myself in my laptop screen. I'm glad I stuck around until the ending though, which is played out in a mysterious victorian looking building stuffed with eerie mannequins and vintage toys, which is both strangely beautiful and very tense.

  4. oh this movie is iconic! I remember grumbling about how the whole movie is set in complete or half-darkness but after watching it a couple of times you really appreciate the whole movie as is, and the reasons they made everything the way it is.

visually it is very very rich and I definitely agree with the amazing effects (for its time).

and you should have mentioned roy batty, he's such a babe... ;)

  8. Completely bizarre movie, but also very intriguing and interesting!

Had to study this this year, along with the book it was adapted on (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?). It sounded sooo bizarre, but it was actually quite good! Eventhough writing a 3000 word comparative essay was no fun...

  15. Bladerunner is great. Not only is the sci-fi interesting, Ridley Scott gave it a real gritty, dark feel! (Sorry, film buff here ;D ) Thanks for your comment on my blog!

Although vape carts remain an illegal comodity in many states across the USA and parts of the world, Dank vape carts suppliers continue to promote the use of these vape carts in these states by delivering discreetly over the mail.
vape danks , and other carts such as Mario carts , stiizy pods, moonrock carts, exotic carts are often criticized for not scoring a pass in laboratory test. However these carts remain the best vapes in the market and constitute the best vape flavors. Dank vapes in particular for over the years has scored the highest criticism on the market but also has made the highest sales for over the years.the most popular vapes products are so far the dank vapes and the most recommended vape is the moonrock carts.
Dankwoods blunts, Packwoods perolls and backwood prerolls are also a product of the dank company.
Though the company is an illegally operating company with no official web account, dankwoods can be found all over the internets platforms such as instagram, facebook, and tweeter.
Dankwoods prerolls constitute a 2gram mass of dank blunt and some aromatic dank flavors.
Dankwoods price varies over the internet and cheapest dankwood prices are determined by the dankwoods suppliers. However buying dankwoods in bulk can always be facilitated over the web.
